"Love in a Fallen City" is a 1984 Hong Kong romance movie starring Chow Yun-fat (played by Fan Liuyuan) and Cora Miao (played by Bai Liusu). It was adapted from Eileen Chang's novel of the same name. It eventually won the 4th Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Music and Taiwan's the 25th Golden Horse Award for Best Costume Design. The theme song of the movie, also named "Love in a Fallen City" is sung by Liza Wang. This film is full of distinguished old multi-cultural city style in Hong Kong & Shanghai during World War II, regardless of the setting, actors' costumes and theme song. At the end of the story, the fall of Hong Kong city unexpectely fulfilled Fan Bai's love commitment. The entire set of movies is full of nostalgic and romantic atmosphere, and has become a timeless classic that no remake or cover artist can surpass.
